Dance School Policy
General:
• Label all dance shoes with first and last name.
• Cover-ups are to worn outside class and studio.
• Please, NO GUM is allowed in class or the studio.
• We prefer that no jewelry be worn in class.
• Bring no valuables to class with you. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.
• All food and drinks must be kept in the eating area at all times.
• Please keep the eating area clean.
• Dance shoes are designed to worn on our dance floors only. Please do not wear shoes outside.
Tuition (Children’s Classes):MONTHLY RATE SCALE PER WEEK/FAMILY (monthly average = 4 classes per month. All rehearsals and performances are educational classes).
One Class: $ 45.00 per month
Two Classes: $ 65.00 per month
Three Classes: $ 85.00 per month
Unlimited Classes: $135.00 per month
Registration Fee: $ 25.00 per month
Tuition is due on the first lesson of every month. Students may bring payment in an envelope with their name on it. A $5.00 LATE FEE will be charged after the 2nd lesson of the month Tuition can also be paid through PayPal at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Course Information & Appropriate Attire:
Attire: Students are to wear appropriate shoes for dance classes. Please see specific attire requirements below under dance class information. Shoes and dancewear is available for sale through the studio.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: Classes meet weekly. Students are expected to attend every class. Excused absences may be made up with another similar class. Make-up class forms are at the desk and sent in with student at beginning of class.
Dancer Observation: Parents may watch their child discreetly through viewing windows for brief periods.
ADVERSE WEATHER POLICY: We follow the policy of Battle Creek Public Schools. If they do not have classes for students, we will not have classes for students.
VACATION POLICY: We will send home a “Dates to Remember” sheet with the Dance School’s vacation and Holiday Schedules, which should be saved for future reference.
SPECIAL NOTICES: Check the message window for announcements and special notices. All messages left on answering machine will be returned as soon as possible. If power goes out, messages could be lost.

Dance Class Information
Pre-dance: (Ballet, Acro, and Rhythm)
2 1/2 to 4 1/2 yrs. - 30 min.
Leotard, tights, and pink ballet shoes.
BALLET: 8 yrs. to Adult - 1 hour
Leotard, tights, pink ballet shoes, 8 1/2 x 11 notebook with pencil for ballet notes, hair tied back off shoulders.
Beg. & Int. Combination:
(Ballet, Acro, and Tap)
4 1/2 to 6 1/2 yrs. - 1 hour.
Leotard, tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes with elastic tap ties.
POINTE: 13 yrs. to Adult
Must Audition, completed 3 yrs. Ballet, and currently enrolled in Ballet.
Advanced Combination: (Ballet and Tap)
6 1/2 to 8 yrs. - 1 hour.
Leotard, tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes with elastic tap ties.
TAP: 8 yrs. to Adult - 1 hour
Leotard, tights, black tap shoes, hair tied back.
Pre-Acrobatics and/or pre-jazz: 30 min. ea..
Leotard, tights, and black jazz shoes.
Hip-Hop:8 yrs. to Adult - 1 hour
Leotard, tights, black jazz pants, sweats, black jazz shoes, hair tied back.
LYRICAL: 12 yrs. to Adult
Must have completed 3 yrs. Ballet and Jazz and currently enrolled in both Ballet and Jazz with approval of instructor.
Acrobatics: 6 yrs. to Adult - 1 hour
Leotard, tights, black acrobatic shoes with rubberized sole (no lace-up or jazz shoe allowed) , hair tied back.
ADULT CLASSES: (Ballet/Jazz, Tap) - 1 hour.
Leotard and tights, sweats (leggings and t-shirts are acceptable), and shoes pertaining to dance subject.
Samba Babies: 30 min.
Stretch clothes, avoid zippers and buttons, shoes are not necessary, socks are acceptable. Baby carrier
MALE STUDENTS:T-shirt, jazz pants, tights, or stretchy bike shorts, and black shoes pertaining to dance subject.
For Youth Students - Studio Policies
To help provide a safe, healthy, and productive environment for our dancers, we ask that the following policies be followed. If you have questions, please call the studio where the class takes place.
1. Before each and every class, all students must check in at the front desk and sign in.
2. For the safety of your child, please pick up your dancer inside the building after class.
Please be on time to pick up your child.
3. Adults and siblings must remain in the waiting area during class, not in the hallway or on the stairs (fire hazards), and
do not enter the studio (distraction to students).
4. Please refer to the Youth Program Dress Code for the appropriate dance attire for the class for which your child is
registered.
Hair must be pulled back out of the face. NO JEANS AND NO GUM.
Keep all jewelry and body scents (perfume, lotion, etc.) to a minimum.
Street shoes are not permitted in the studios.
Food items are also not permitted in the studios; water in plastic bottles is acceptable at all studio locations.
5. If your child must miss a class, please contact the studio where the class takes place — Monday through Friday,
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. — for recommendations for make up classes. All missed classes must be made up within
the same semester.
6. To prevent injury and to avoid class disruption, students arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be permitted to
participate in class.
7. No animals are permitted in the studios, lobbies, offices, or theater except identified service animals.

Web notices and voicemail messages are posted by 10:00 a.m.
Weekend notifications and voicemails are posted at least ½ hour before the first class
